Purpose of our website

This summer,  we have produced our arguments on different subjects with a research essay, video, and this website to inform you of dystopian concepts illustrated in the movie, I, Robot. In our project, we use pathos to express emotional appeal through features throughout the website, such as font, colors, pictures, and videos. Our logos is expressed with our structure of intellect to persuade the audience with our views. Ethos is used to illustrate our credibility on the subject by citing our sources and displaying professional grammar.

We are Juniors at Purdue University. For our English 106 composition course we have learned much about rhetoric, the art and language of persuading audiences with strategies of ethos, logos, and pathos. In the past, common means of persuasion were through printed texts such as books, journal entries, and magazines.  Recently technology has evolved, dominating our methods of rhetoric through mass media such as the internet and cell phone communications.  We have also learned utopian and dystopian characteristics of various stories and societies. A utopia is a real or imaginary place that is perfect or ideal. A dystopia is a real or imaginary place where its citizens of society are victims of misery forced upon them.
